You screwed up and disappointed those around you who clearly saw what happened. One way to deal with it is to cover up the whole thing, to twist reality and create yourself a more comfortable story like blaming others for provoking your behavior. Better is however to openly admit that you made a mistake, to sincerely apologize, and believably commit to change. Being true to yourself and others is not always easy, but it is deliberating and allows you to regain trust and respect!
