Progress Beats Perfection

Perfectionism has a quiet way of slowing leaders down. The inner voice whispers: “It’s not good enough yet…” And so execution gets delayed.

Instead of treating that voice as the truth, give it a name. Maybe it’s Perfect Pete or Perfect Pam. When the voice appears, speak to it: “Thank you for your concern—but we’re moving forward.”

By naming the voice, you create distance between who you are and what the voice says. It becomes just one opinion in the room.

And as a leader, you know how to handle opinions—you listen, consider them, and then decide what best serves the mission.
