Moving Forward After Mistakes

It happens. You made a mistake in the heat of the moment.

Not a disaster, but you didn’t follow protocol. A colleague of yours is upset. Maybe even creates too much drama.

It bothers you and your mind keeps going back to what happened. “I should have done this better.”

Break the cycle. Accept what happened. It cannot be undone. Focus your energy on how you can improve the situation. How can you apologize to your colleague and take corrective action ?

That’s it. And then stop ruminating. You have done what you could and other things are waiting for you, that need your attention.

What thoughts about the past are occupying your mind ?

Accept what happened or make it better – and stop thinking about it !
