Marathoners know that everything gets harder after mile 18 when fatigue kicks in. They have their countermeasures, carbs, and water. But there is something else! They clap the hands of those people cheering them on from the sideline. It is just a little touch, but it gives them so much energy. At work, you are around when your colleagues hit their ‘mile 18 mark’. Reach out your hand, give them a handwritten note, some candies, a few words of encouragement, a tap on the shoulder.
