As soon as a group of people works towards a common goal it becomes a team. But in most cases, by just pulling the rope in the same direction we’re not achieving the highest levels of performance. What we need is excellence in the interaction of team members, that they care about each other, help each other, have each other’s back. This makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts.
