You need some quiet time to finalize this important piece of work. And then in the middle of it you have a craving, tend to do something else, something minor, something silly. A lot of our distraction comes from within. Notice your sensation. Which discomfort do you want to escape? Are you bored, ruminating, or restless? Don’t give in immediately. Tell yourself to stay on your task for just 10 more minutes. This time is often enough to let your urge disappear and allow you to get things done undistracted.
